“Visually breathtaking. Unlike anything you will ever see.” IndieWire
“The stunning new trailer for Samsara offers a tantalizing peek at the dozens of exotic locations visited by the filmmakers in their quest to capture the ‘ever turning wheel of life’ on Earth.”
If you are familiar with the stunning and transcendent visual poetry of Ron Fricke’s non-narrative documentary BARAKA (1992), his follow up film SAMSARA might interest you as well! He filmed everything with 70mm film so I will no doubt be gorgeous. I would write more about this, but part of the magic of Fricke’s films are that they have to be seen and experienced, and preferably in a giant theatre. Here is the trailer.
A spiritual love-story set in the majestic landscape of Ladakh, Himalayas. Samsara is a quest; one man’s struggle to find spiritual Enlightenment by renouncing the world. And one woman’s struggle to keep her enlightened love and life in the world. But their destiny turns, twists and comes to a surprise ending.
Release date August 23, 2012. Samsara – Filmed over a period of five years in twenty-five countries on five continents, and shot on 70mm film, Samsara transports us to the varied worlds of sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial complexes, and natural wonders. “Samsara” is a sanskrit word meaning “continuous flow”; it is the repeating cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth (reincarnation) within Hinduism, Buddhism, Bön, Jainism, Yoga and Sikhism.
SAMSARA is a Sanskrit word that means “the ever turning wheel of life” and is the point of departure for the filmmakers as they search for the elusive current of interconnection that runs through our lives. Filmed over a period of almost five years and in twenty-five countries, SAMSARA transports us to sacred grounds, disaster zones, industrial sites, and natural wonders. By dispensing with dialogue and descriptive text, SAMSARA subverts our expectations of a traditional documentary, instead encouraging our own inner interpretations inspired by images and music that infuses the ancient with the modern.

:Yes, I do believe that changes are coming. This is one of d ways, engaged advertising, adds that are changing ur view of d things in a seconds. That’s why I save this picture when I saw it in my stream. We need to change d way of seeing d things, we must push for bigger awareness , we need to try more!
This is one add that is fighting agains d blind society that is making new buildings and city halls but never think truly open. I know a lot of people who have their disabilities as a problem, and I believe it’s like this only because d society made this way of understanding d things. They don’t have (really) a problem, maybe some of them only have physical disabilities but it’s so in front of ur nose because nobody cares to make d life better for them. .. then we continue with building our stereotypes, tabооs etc.
well, I stand against that, I wish all of my city stairs have this add on, at least till don’t make d infrastructure change and make their regular even without this problem, hard life’s, easier . .. crossing fingers for fast development, especially if they are crucial as this.

+Hubble Space Telescope Captures View of 'Mystic Mountain'
Hubble’s 20th anniversary image shows a mountain of dust and gas rising in the Carina Nebula. The top of a three-light-year tall pillar of cool hydrogen is being worn away by the radiation of nearby stars, while stars within the pillar unleash jets of gas that stream from the peaks.

Balkan Youth Festival, border, Bulgaria, explore, exploring, Macedonia, story, view, walk
I didn’t plan this trip to finish like this but after I took two buses, the one from Sandanski to Petrich and the other one from Petrich to Gabrene then suddenly I found myself in d middle of that village that it’s like on d end of the world. On d Bulgarian side of d old Belasica mountain I was on few kilometers from the border with Macedonia, and yes I was going back home to Macedonia after one month stay in Sandanski as part of d Balkan Youth Festival.
First I ask some local people how can I get till d border and after a while I figure out that d only solution is to start walking slowly till d border, with all d bags that I had in me after one month. One grandpa told me that I’ll need to walk 2 kilometers to reach the border and for me that was not a problem since I already knew d road from before.Once I’ve done d same option and after few minutes there was car that stop and offer me to take me to the border.
So, I start my walk and yes I definitely enjoy the whole trip till d border but the thing was in that that there were not only two kilometers but double. So the challenge for me was bigger. I had with me the Sun that was almost burning like for d end of this month and all d birds, animals, insects and d happy family of unknown objects in d nature.
After a while from behind there was one grandma that was walking even more faster then me, that confirm me d direction and relax me a bit with the info that I’m on d right way. I was hoping a little that there will be some car that will pass, but only cars are passing trough my back because of my big big traveling bag that I had on me.
During this hour and a half walking I stop on few places so I can enjoy d view from there, because the village and d road are coming from the top of d mountain and basically d village is in d hearth of this green source. Some of d pictures are just for a memory of this lovey exploring. ..I grab with me few tea plants and one wooden stick that I bring home.
.. sometimes even the things that are not planned to happen when u accept them as a positive challenge they can be really good experience. I felt as mountaineer for a while today and realized that I miss d mountain trips that were part of my activities in d free time before.
Thank u dear cosmos of circumstances for giving me this opportunity to live a bit with d green spirits of this planet Earth!
