:I like this piece of art, short video. .. in d last few hours I watched maybe more then 10 times and I think it deserves to be here as part of my blog. Dark, mystic, slow motion, experimental . .. only d first impressions after u watch it.

Compiled over the past year, the duo’s film work traverses the wilds of April Base, the Wisconsin studio of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. Trundling through rich forest landscapes and ephemeral, sculptural environments, the films’ pure visual moments mesh with graceful digital effects, creating entangled shrines and smoke-filled twilights. At its root, the work deals with themes of space–both external and psychological.

:d stage for contemporary street art

Every year as a part of Balkan Youth Festival there is d stage for contemporary street art that I coordinate also as participate. This year we had few EVS volunteers interested in participation also as some local street artists and d kids from the city that on d end had opportunity all together to make one graffiti.

Besides d painting as part of d stage for contemporary street art there are d brake dancers. We design a special stage for them where they can compare there style of dancing also as gain some new tips and tricks. Proper music absolutely: Hip – Hop, R&B & some brake bits.

Regularly we make this event in d evening while before the start of d night concerts and there are crowds of people and tourists that are interested in that what we do and d whole atmosphere that we create in d front of hotel Sandanski in Sandanski is amazing and unique.

The brake dance groups were amazing, they were playin more then two hours and in that time Erika [Italy] done her amazing painting. Desi [Bulgaria] draw amazing eye on her wooden board, the Turkish & Polish girls made fantastic play with d colors and their ideas. Ina [Bulgaria] experiment with d materials and d techniques that she include in her work and Toni [Bulgaria] paint for this year stage for contemporary street arts some fashionable, stylish painting.

There were few more people including me that were participating and made creative energy during Balkan Youth Festival and as coordinator of this activity I can say that we’ve done pretty good job. Later, during d festival days we show our works on few places around d city and also use them as a part of d Eco- Happening that followed in d program.

We had one tattoo master that drawn to our bodies temporary tattoos also as few jugglers that animate d kids that were in the city park ally. We finished the paintings & we set them around the trees in the ally of the park. Different levels of light from the street lights was giving different perspective on the pictures that makes them more attractive.

The people that were going to the BYF – Concert had the opportunity to see the setting of the Night Street Exhibition.

It was good to learn how to work in team with the EVS volunteers on d festival. We bring d materials and build d whole stage together and after, when the activities were off and d people from Sandanski were preparing for d night concerts @ d Theater we collect all d things and clean d space.

..interesting for me was d group of 10 kids with BMX [bikes] that were with us during d whole time,  from time to time asking if there are some colors or sprays that they can use. ..In d first one hour I was trying to convince them that they are pretty small to paint on this big boards but after a while I decide to give them d opportunity to learn more about d street art and to take active participation in our activity.

After I explain them shortly how can they use d sprays, they decide all together to write BYF [Balkan Youth Festival] and colored d letters together. I hope that this was good experience for them and that they will want to continue with d art in general and be my real participants in d next years.

#twitterartexhibit in Norway

This is call for artists organized by the Norwegian colorist – expressionist artist @DavidSandumArt. He send this call on twitter for A real life Twitter art exhibit! and his main idea was to getter artists from all over, who will create card/s with their style of work and support the organizer in making a big exhibit in the city library in Moss, Norway. The library (bibliotek in Norwegian) is located in a part of town called Møllerbyen that used to be part of the towns industry (years ago).

I really like his idea, because he wants to make the expo, and our art works to be for sale but the money to be used in charity. The prize for all the cards will be the same, that was also one of my basic motivation to participate. And also 140 artist (the first idea), call via twitter in 140 characters, the final result, amazing idea that I waned to support.

..so far for the #twitterartexhibit he received art from 173 artists (few days left until the deadline, November 27th, and the wall that is made inside the Bibliotek it will be able to show 240 cards.

In the beginning I didn’t know what to send from the things that I constantly made here in France but most of them didn’t fit the size, so I decide to make one week of dynamic creative producing so I can have few works from which I can choose which to send.

I made about 20 paintings/ cards, acrylic on paper-board and for final there were 3 that were telling we are the one that we’ll go. The other one that are part of this collection (private for now) you can see it here ~ #artExhibit.

This are my friends, my characters that will present @kihuPotru on this expo.

I_Go. I; I_Go. II; I_Go. III;

In meanwhile, I had one more idea in my mind. Sometimes I made art/ painting workshops with the kids that are coming in the association Jacques Prevert. For me was perfect idea, in perfect time. I was doing my cards when the kids were inspired to paint with me also. I didn’t wait a second after I had 4-5 kids around me. I take big paper and give to all of them one color in big 1l bottle. Every kid was having one color in his hand and brush in the other.

I explain to them that I want to have one big abstract painting made by all of them in 140 seconds. My idea was also in 140 moves, I had already 9 kids on which I was trying to tell to don’t make more then 10 moves, so I can reach the number 140, not all of them listen and will stop with 10 moves. 🙂

It was workshop like start, go, go, go..STOP!

We repeat the process on 3 big paper-boards. For the new paper they were changing their colors, so they can have opportunity to express them selves in different way. I catch that in the box with brushes there were also some teeth brushes and some of the kids in their hands were having them. Pretty experimental for me, so happy about the idea for the exhibition as for the idea of this action painting workshop were the kids were making collective pieces of art.

Monster.S for soliDAR*ity

For the exhibition that took place in the Maison de la famillies in Metz I decide to create art piece that will be mix of the three techniques/ workshops that were actually part of the youth exchange connect with contemporary art called Voice of Art.

Voice of Art was a youth exchange organized by the association Together, on my blog for my stay in France you can find other articles connected with it. In this exchange participants from 6 countries were able to learn more about contemporary art and also to create part of their ideas participating in three workshops: street art, art installations and multimedia.

The street art workshop was leaded by me and can find more about here. The other two workshops were leaded by Bruno de Sario, Italy [art installation] and  Agnieszka Piatczak, Poland and Ramses The lonelywarrior, France [multimedia].

I have some expirience with video/ multi media and installations from before and I felt perfect opportunity to try to play with this three forms and create mixed media work that will be connect and will express the way how I accept and understand the topic of this excange ‘solidarity’

The last period I use my facebook status to write some shorts about monsters and monster mood and somehow I find connection between the monster.s and solidarity. I try to show the main feelings that I have when I think about solidarity. I made monster[s] that [are] push[ing] for solidarity.

Monster.S for Solidarity

In the painted form I played with graff, stickers and expressionistic techniques. The stickers that I made before I apply in the wooden board same as sometimes I put them on the walls around the places where I travel.. ..

In the installation I try to use as less as possible, because one of the aim in my works is to show that a lot of things can be created from low budget materials, most of them organic and easy for recycling. This ecoLogic.al way of creating art in my eyes is the future of the contemporary design, art & living.

In the short conceptual and bit experimental video I give a soul to the monster that I already have it in 2 forms..that comes to my concept like finishing the circle of 2D, 3D with bringing the monster in moving and giving him life. I create monster with feelings..

The combination of this 3 forms bring my idea and concept in final result in which the message is clean..if u understand it good if not again good 🙂

I already share this work on tumblr because that is usually the place where I share more often art stuff from different artists and different forms..almost all the time contemporary and modern, I decide to upload this work here too.

It’s actually working concept that comes after inner result on working on topic as solidarity. Combination from 2 photos by Ramses The Lonelyworrior from France and the editing process made by me. In the beginning there was other idea connected with this pics but during the brain storm it develop in something else, which result you see now.

the conversation that we made with Ramses on fb for the result of the photo finish from Ramses works and my editing process was very deep and pure.

What about Con.Tempo.rary arT?

In the wireless connection I found colors on the top of the TV. The youth in the box were speaking about art. Modern or contemporary?
If you still can’t find the difference between these two periods in the creative era don’t worry because the line between those is not very good defined, except that the artist in the contemporary period can use the telephone, video, TV, and all the modern technology we have now. In the modern period the artists still didn’t have some of those materials/ products.
If we are looking for the right definition about the word Contemporary we know that it means “art that has been and continues to be created during our lifetimes”. In other words, contemporary to us.
It is a period that started in the 60’s and the beginning of the 70’s. As we saw that after the postmodern there where still new things coming and the designers and artists show totally new ways of expressing themselves.
The difference in this last period of the evolution of art is that you can write on the paper and it is not necessary something to be written at all. It is also not necessary to be explained to the audience what does that mean. It’s all about the human eye and how it accepts these works of art. Usually nowadays we can find groups of artists gathered in community, creating conceptual stuff which are difficult to be explained and are observed only from small circles of people who are into art. Over the past 40 years we saw what kind of shapes and forms this period can create to evolve into today’s level where the reception of art is crystallized till moment of refinement.
.
Every different period brings new waves in different fields of the normal day living. We live in      time when we wait for new application and upgrade of the old one everyday, when good commercial, advertisings and designs take our attention. We want to enter in objects that bring us new way of thinking and combine the elements and the knowledge from the classical ages till now. Exactly that is living in contemporary environment.
There are new lines in the forms of the architecture that starts building in the last 30 – 40 years, different relation with the theatre, painted art, photography, literature, movie and all other brunches of the art as a whole.

New forms were born like art installations, multi media, visual art etc. There are different issues with which the artist or the groups connect with, such as feminism, multiculturalism, globalization, bio-engineering and AIDS and cancer awareness. Most of the time, contemporary art is closely related to the modern, postmodern and avant-garde period of art. In today’s art, materials which are used in the creation of an art-work are collection of information that the materials carry by themselves and their combination is aimed to convey a specific thought / paragraph for a particular condition.

Ones of the best presenters of this period who border with the postmodern are Marina Abramovich (performance artist), Banksy (graffiti artist), Yoko Ono (musician, artist), Laurie Anderson (performance artist), Slaven Tolj (performance, installation artist), Richard Wilson (sculptor), Philip Pocock (internet and installation artist), Kenneth Noland  (painter), Charles Bukowski (writer, poet), Takashi Murakami (sculptor and painter), Santiago Calatrava (architect)  and so much more situated in a lot of different categories like feminist art, neo-conceptualism, neo-expressionism, multiculturalism, graffiti movement, neo-pop, futurism, minimalism and so on.
.
Contemporary art is art in action. As a whole, it is very difficult to analyze it, mostly because of all those groups and subgroups in which artists define their expression. Groups create art that is engaged, which is protest or support of a political process, a revolt against a global problem, poverty, discrimination, gender inequality, environmental problems etc..

Nowadays, art is taking part of everything. When you buy products you choose those who have better form and design, on TV and internet we more often stay on some programs and pages that bring something unique and not seen before. The things that we can see in the galleries are based on deeper concept that is the main point on which we should put attention.
Contemporary artists are here to bring progressive ways of understanding the life like sustainable and innovative living with use of organic and recycled materials. When mother Earth is more respected, all her resources can be used in more creative way.
Everything what we do in present time can be seen as a contemporary way of living and the works that we produce can be seen as contemporary art. 🙂
.
On this exchange we are going to talk about contemporary art and we will share our knowledge about art during this modern age of living. We are also going to discuss about the materials which are used by the present artists in order to create their works and what kind of message they bring.
There will be workshops where we will express our ideas via all those different ways.

Like a part of the stage for Contemporary arts on Balkan Youth Festival I had the opportunity to participate in the painting in two street art paintings.      The atmosphere while I was drawing was very good, the local citizens were making walk to the way to the summer theater and park, from the side that go up, and to the center of the city, on the side that goes down. We were spread in the little forest in front of the hotel Sandanski, which just show the beautiful and big city park. On the opposite side brake-dancers were dancing on HIP-HOP, R&B  and Brake Beat music.

In the air you could feel the smell of the colors, the noise of the rhythm the spray cans. With smile on my face I welcomed the little kids that arrived and ask me what I am painting, because I was drawing  short cut of the word YOUTH like U-TH,  and it was very difficult to be recognized at the beginning. They were asking me about the colors, and why I choose this word. I answered them that the future is in the hands of the Youth, that all the youngsters could  create better tomorrow. I sad to someone that in the real life if you get material and space where you could express yourself  like author when you want, then we talk about real progress in his own meaning.

у уо1

We finished the painting we set the paintings around the trees in the ally of the park. Different levels of light from the street lights was giving different perspective on the pictures that makes them more attractive. The people that were going to the BYF – Concert had the opportunity to see the setting of the Night Street Exhibition, and unnoticed pass in the opening  of the exhibition. I took my back pack, made a circle around the exhibition, and satisfied I catch the way to the concert.

In the second day when the stage of contemporary art happened I decide to draw character with some content around him. I wanted the moment to hit in same time on the character and on the content also, that’s why I choice more simple character and not so complex story in front of him. I wanted the story to show  the vision of one young man and everything to be in one composition with the topic that I draw before U-TH. This time I choose  to draw on a horizontal surface  and I took material long 4 meters, After I put the character in the beginning of the picture, I decide to put my vision in mechanism of one clock, or the process of time passing, with more colors inside. Every deferent position and condition  which every Youth can find himself. Some of the parts are separating, from one they are becoming two and after they are becoming one again.

I was impressed by one old man, local photographer who was following the process of my painting, and ask me for one photography. I know that I wont see this photography, but somehow I felt nice when he ask me to make a photography. I saw how he sees the life trough the  prism of his lens, and I wanted to be a part of that tape, I know him from the past years. He is one of the oldest supporters of the festival.

And for him the festival is good. It makes him to be younger, and for me the conversation with him was a lesson, I was following him calmly while he was telling his story and the way how the local people salutes him. He told me the he likes the colors and the concept, I said thank you, for the photography also. I finished the picture few minutes before the start of the concert, we put the paintings around, and intimately between the participants we opened the Night exhibition and with our back packs together with the crowd we went to the summer theater for the beginning of the concert.
